Hi! I'm Gizem ERDURAN. I live in Izmir which is one of the most beautiful cities on the west coast of Turkey. Turkish people say "the pearl of Aegean" for Izmir to describe the perfection of it. I'm a 10th grade student in "Karsiyaka Anadolu Lisesi".
I'd like to get started by writing something about why I determined "nostalgia" for the name of my blog. Craving for some memories and experiences is a feeling that exists all in people's lives. Sharing our reminiscences provides to help with the other people for living without regrets and saying that I shouldn't have done this.
I've wanted to share my experiences and memories with you via blogger. I am indeed a willing student to learn new things about what the most common events are all over the world. We don't have enough information to create a better world and help someone in need. I participated in innovation project at my school last year which is organized by US Embassy and made a presentation to describe the project that involves lots of newnesses with my team members. As a result of this competition, I was chosen to go to the USA and attend in a kind camp.
The students who are from Turkey, Germany, Israel, Ireland, England and America came together to discuss about current issues and youth activism. I realized that we are not courageous to start doing something what is essential for the world.
Governor's Institutes of Vermont was a marvelous chance to enhance my awareness, self-confidence and viewpoint. So many poeple in the world have been waiting for a helping-hand because they don't have enough possibilities to educate their children for a good life and a proper education. When I read an article or info that includes new events, I will be sharing with you.
I'm interested in cross-cultural learning. I love getting to know new cultures and meeting new people from around the world through exchange programs and technology. If you have some time to be volunteer and help with someone in need, bestir yourself and start to move. :))
